A physicist by training, MacQueen switched to developing technologies for engineering biological tissues. Now, he applies these techniques to applications that range from building organ models for testing human disease therapies, to synthetic meat built from animal stem cells. These applications aim to improve human health as well as animal welfare and sustainability.
